Goodbye America, Hello England

caroline in englandThis opportunity came to us when our school's Varsity Girls Basketball coach, Terry Merrow, called us with a chance to travel to London, England and play basketball with a group of girls from around Vermont. Some of our America's Team teammates are rivals in basketball but we have put that behind us and started a great friendship. Our team of eight has met a couple of times to practice and scrimmage other local teams to get comfortable playing with each other. In mid-May we held a big fundraiser, at the West Rutland High School, that consisted of taking 100 free throws each and earning money per shot made. A huge thank you goes out to those that have donated and supported us to help us get to London.

The countdown has brought us to 1 day until we get on a plane and leave for London. We will be catching a plane at 7:30pm in Boston and arriving in London at 7:30am, which means it feels like 2am for us. Despite the lack of sleep, we will start our adventure Wednesday morning.

We will try and keep you all updated every day to share our stories and adventures in England, keep in touch!
