2016 Eighth Grade Woman Trip

IMG 0184On May 27th, Leland and Gray’s eight grade girls took part in what is rapidly becoming a key part of middle school culture. For this year’s “Woman Trip,” sixteen eighth graders and several chaperones went rafting down the Connecticut River with Zoar Outdoor. Due to a dam release, there were some rapids and even one class III “drop.” On the way down the river, rafts stopped at a small beach for a delicious picnic. Girls also go to visit the Turner’s Falls Fishway, part of a dam that is designed to preserve traditional spawning routes. Before going home, trip organizer Phoebe Connolly led the group in team-building exercises. Here’s to many years to come of this celebration of our middle school girls’ transition to high school!
