Chinese-Bridge Mandarin Speech Contest

Chinese-Bridge1Boston - I had a wonderful weekend in Boston at UMass Boston with three of my students and a parent attending the 8th National Chinese-Bridge Mandarin Speech Contest for U.S. High School students. Ansel Notman-Wilmerding made it all the way to the final, and won the second place. His speech topic was "Learning Chinese and Playing Ping Pong", and he performed Taichi after his speech as his cultural talent.

This year, there were more than 100 schools and 1000 students across the United States who participated, and Ansel represented Leland and Gray and Vermont really well. The other five participants did a good job in the preliminary contest, and they are Alana Redden, Jesse Cannella, Jake Sherman, Thacher Winot and Paige Gargette.
